Isaac Asbury (they/them) is a multi-disciplinary writer based in Leeds, U.K.

About

Isaac is a 22 year old non-binary creative originally from Hampshire, relocating to Yorkshire at age 11.

A recent graduate of BA (Hons) Creative Writing at Leeds Arts University, Isaac has developed and refined their creative practice at a professional level.

When they aren’t writing, Isaac can be found fussing over cats, obsessively listening to the same five music artists or rewatching the Saw movies.

Interests

Primarily, Isaac is interested in breaking down social and literary constructs through their work. Often writing about their experiences with queerness, disability and trauma, Isaac seeks to inspire a new era of rebellion in contemporary literature.

With their debut novel, they aim to break down outdated conventions of fiction, renewing the craft through experimentation with form and style.

Experience

Isaac has had their work published in 10+ publications and they have performed their work at numerous events across Yorkshire, including Leeds Literature Festival.

Isaac has also written a number of articles for The State of The Arts magazine and is part of the team behind the online writing competition Serious Flash Fiction.

Whether you need a spoken word performer, creative in residence or events co-ordinator, Isaac is always willing to take on new challenges.
